FORMER LEXINGTON FIREFIGHTER RECEIVES 8-YEAR PRISON TERM FOR RECEIVING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.

FRANKFORT, KY -- The following information was released by the office of the Kentucky Attorney General:

Attorney General Jack Conway, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, Kerry B. Harvey, the FBI and the Fayette County Commonwealth's Attorney's office jointly announce today the sentencing of a former Lexington firefighter for receiving thousands of child pornographic images. Eric Bradley, 38, of Jessamine County, Ky. was sentenced in federal court to eight years in prison for receipt of child pornography following an investigation by General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit.

"I appreciate the hard work of my Cybercrimes Unit and all of the agencies involved in this case," General Conway said. "Working together, we are putting a dent in the receipt and distribution of child pornographic images and making the Internet a safer place for Kentucky kids."

As part of an undercover investigation that began in October of 2008, an investigator with General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit identified a computer that contained child pornography located at the Lexington fire station. Bradley was contacted at the fire station and a brief review of his computer indicated that he had child pornography.

Bradley admitted downloading child pornography on a computer at the fire station. Some of the images were of minors as young as four-years-old. A forensic examination of the computer conducted by General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit found that Bradley had received more than 7,000 images of child pornography and approximately 50 videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Since its creation in June 2008, General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, a member of the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, has launched 188 investigations and seized nearly 192,000 child pornographic images and videos from the Internet.
